This is the page about Mom and Dad Dare. They look like this -
They are complete train wrecks. They would be infinitely worse if it hadn’t been for this -
They have no hope apart from the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God who gave His life for them.
They’re pretty much still train wrecks. But they’re making progress because of the kindness and love of God and His faithful work in their lives.
Dad and Mom Dare met in the blissful summer of 1994 at a prestigious local sporting establishment in Howell, MI. Dad immediately categorized Mom as just another young lady who was way too beautiful to be anywhere near within his league. So, he wrote her off. But time would prove him wrong and after only a few weeks, he fell head over heals for this hazel-eyed brunette named Jennifer.
They began spending more time together that summer but not officially dating for almost an entire year later. Her parents were very protective (Good Thing!) and so he had to come to her house during the day to see her. He gladly accepted these rules and often called her from work asking if he could bring lunch over and sit on the big wooden swing in their back yard. They sat and nibbled at their cheeseburgers while her Mother faithfully kept an eye on them from the kitchen window while she “washed the dishes”.
Time went by and one day he announce that he had joined the US Army and would be leaving the following summer in 1995. She was devastated but determined to see if this new found interest (dare we call it ‘love’?!) would last, she decided to faithfully wait for him.
Months turned into years and they spent short weekends together when he would come home for visits. One day he proposed marriage and she said yes…in front of a crowd filled with family and friends. She was shocked, but surely not as much as her parents.
They were married on August 1st 1998 and moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina where he was permanently stationed with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg. After about a year in the south, they returned home, with their firstborn son, to Michigan. He found a job at a telecommunications company and she did him one better by finding much more advanced work as a stay at home Mom. Three more children and years upon years of marriage, they are still wildly in love with each other. At least he thinks so. He’s pretty sure she feels the same. But hey, she has no idea he wrote all of this here so maybe when she finds it, her opinion will change.

Love this description. And love the comments on the side. Aren’t the kids great! We tried starting a family blog, but it didn’t turn out nearly as well as this. Good job. Keep it up.
