Peter Meyer wrote a brief bio of Lt. Colonel Oliver “Ollie” North in 1987 right after the controversial Iran-Contra hearings on Capitol Hill. Overall, an excellent read. Very engaging and increasingly gripping after things get dicey when North and his cohort’s clandestine efforts to promote the Reagan doctrine begin to unravel.
But – I don’t know if I had the wrong impression or what, but I really really anticipated that Meyer would circle back to where he began the book and write about North’s testimony in Congress. He didn’t. Looks like I’ll need to Youtube those videos. And they better be out there because I’m really dying to see them now that I’ve read this book.
